Welcome to the latest edition of Smartlink. Since we are now already a third of the way through this year, we wanted to update you on some of our recent exciting projects. STS is delighted to be involved in the Barclaycard Freedom loyalty programme where Reward Money can be redeemed instantly. We are also privileged to be working with The Pennies Foundation where, using the Chip and PIN device, money can be donated to charity instantly.

In direct response to the rapidly-emerging mobile handheld market, we proudly announce a new partnership with Onboard Retail Solutions combined with extending our support of our mobile POS range with the Bluebird BIP-1300 device.

Finally with the current industry spotlight on PCI and End-to-End Encryption, our regular MyChip feature airs a more light-hearted and pragmatic angle on this serious subject.

STS is proud to be part of making Barclaycard Freedom a reality for merchants. Barclaycard Freedom is a rewards programme for cardholders that automatically allows them to earn Reward Money at participating retailers. This Reward Money can then be redeemed on their next transaction at selected stores within the programme.

STS is delighted to be part of a new charity initiative, The Pennies Foundation, which aims to 'improve lives at the touch of a button'.

STS is delighted to announce a new partnership with Onboard Retail Solutions to deliver new onboard retail technology solutions to airline, rail and ferry industries.

STS has further extended its integrated hardware device range by integrating with the Bluebird Soft Inc (Bluebird) BIP-1300.

Thanks to PCI and EMV we have come along way from the days when both retailers and criminals had complete control over customer card data, but I can't help thinking when is enough, enough? As we all know there is a danger of both under and over insuring your property so shouldn't retailers be approaching PCI with the same caution? More importantly who is it that decides you have enough security in place?
