G8way
Leveraging recent progress made with communications, chip card technology and client-server design, we have taken the next definitive step in the evolution of 21st century card payment systems with G8way.
Using the fast, resilient capabilities of current IP communications networks it has been possible to migrate business logic processing away from terminal firmware, till hardware and back office intermediaries to a centralised server. This remote, thin client approach provides a central location for streamlined operations and strengthened security.
G8way is a software application which operates as an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Client for Payments systems and any other transaction types initiated by card technology.
It can be installed locally or remotely and manages the messages between a PIN pad terminal device and a payment engine, switch and/or EFT application.
It supports the industry standard messaging of EMV and includes the STS SmartNS framework a "Smart Card Enablement Layer" that supports and integrates smart card applications through any point of interface to any business system.
Through one interface G8way can be installed in different environments depending on the customer's requirements.
G8way has the ability to:
- accept payments in any country
- greatly simplify certification
- allow end users to chose their hardware
- accept additional application plug-ins
These benefits are fully accessible through a simple XML or Java client interface. The "put X amount on a card, any card" approach focuses the interface on the payment transaction not the payment instrument, be that contactless or contact chip, magnetic stripe; attended or unattended.
G8way
G8way and all its components are hosted and managed away from the merchant site, communicating over IP to the stand-alone PIN pad with printer. The transaction is initiated by keying the details into the PIN pad. This is a true thin client solution, as all logic resides centrally and is removed from the PIN pad, making it more secure, easy to manage and easier to roll-out new technologies at the merchant's site.
G8way+
G8way and all its components are hosted and managed centrally away from the point of sale, either in store or completely away from the merchant's site. G8way communicates over IP to the PIN pad. The transaction is initiated by the Electronics Point of Sale (EPOS) system sending a message to G8way. When hosted at store level communicating with a remote payment engine, G8way is able to carry out a level of offline processing with a store and forward capability once communications are restored. This allows the added benefit of an integrated payments solution but removes the point of sale from PCIS-DSS scope as no sensitive card data is stored or managed by either the EPOS business application or PIN pad.
G8way+4POS
G8way and all its components are installed and integrated with the Electronics Point of Sale (EPOS) system and communicates to the PIN pad through a serial or USB connection. This allows full integration to the EPOS system and in the event of communications failure to the payment engine, G8way is able to carry out a level of offline processing with a store and forward capability once communications are restored.
